Siam is where both BTS Skytrain lines meet, which makes it the most convenient base in Bangkok. It’s also the city’s shopping heart: Siam Paragon, Siam Center, CentralWorld and the youth-culture streets of Siam Square.
Why stay here
- Every direction is easy — Sukhumvit, Silom, Chatuchak and the riverside are all one train away.
- Air-conditioned walkways link the malls, a blessing in hot season and in the rain.
- A great choice for families: aquarium, cinemas and food courts on the doorstep.
What to do
- Jim Thompson House — a teak home and museum, a quiet escape steps from the malls.
- Erawan Shrine at Ratchaprasong — busy, fragrant and fascinating.
- Mall food courts — surprisingly good and cheap; ideal on a hot day.
- BACC (Bangkok Art and Culture Centre) — free contemporary art.
Local tip: Use the Skywalk between BTS Siam and Chit Lom to skip the traffic-heavy pavements entirely.
